The City Beneath the City

Create a cinematic documentary short about the hidden infrastructure beneath New York City: forgotten subway platforms, steam tunnels, and maintenance corridors. Open with a slow aerial descent from Manhattan rooftops into a subway vent, then cut to handheld exploration footage. Use a 24mm lens for claustrophobic tunnel perspective, macro inserts of rust, dripping water, and faded warning signs, plus a stabilized tracking shot behind a transit worker. Light with practical headlamps, sodium-orange tunnel glow, and realistic shadows. Blend archival-style map graphics with present-day footage. Use subtle subway rumble, distant announcements, and restrained narration. Make it feel investigative, atmospheric, and optimized for YouTube Shorts, TikTok, and Instagram Reels.
