The Art of the Custom Sign

Create a stylish documentary about a third-generation sign painter preserving hand-lettered storefront signs in Los Angeles. Open with a dramatic overhead shot of paint, brushes, gold leaf, and weathered wood arranged like a visual still life. Use a 50mm lens for quiet portrait moments, macro shots for brush texture, and a slow slider movement across finished lettering. Light the studio with broad window light, warm practical lamps, and controlled highlights on wet paint. Follow the artist visiting neighborhood businesses, measuring façades, sketching designs, and explaining why imperfections matter. Include time-lapse painting sequences, street interviews, and authentic city ambience. Make it feel tactile, colorful, nostalgic, and optimized for visual retention.
