Hands That Speak

Create an emotionally rich documentary short about a sign language interpreter working backstage at a live theater. Start from the wings with a shoulder-level tracking shot, following the interpreter as stage light spills across their face. Use a fifty-millimeter lens for expressive close-ups of hands, eyes, and subtle facial movement, then switch to a wide shot showing the performer and interpreter sharing the frame. Mix warm theatrical spotlights with cool backstage shadows, preserving realistic skin texture and gentle lens flares. Capture muffled applause, costume rustle, footfalls, and quiet breathing. The style should be respectful, intimate, and observational, emphasizing communication as physical storytelling.
