Behind the Last Neon Sign

Create a moody documentary about a veteran sign maker preserving America’s disappearing neon signs. Start with a macro shot of a glass tube glowing to life, then pull back on a slow motorized slider to reveal a cluttered workshop filled with blueprints, transformers, paint, and decades of repairs. Use a 35mm lens for process scenes, extreme macro for sparks and glass bends, and locked-off interview frames. Mix warm tungsten work lights with saturated neon reds, blues, and greens, adding subtle halation and authentic film texture. Follow one restoration from damaged roadside sign to nighttime installation, exploring craftsmanship, memory, roadside culture, and the cost of keeping old places visible.
