America’s Secret Library of Lost Sounds

Create a fascinating documentary about an audio archivist in Chicago who preserves disappearing American sounds: subway tokens, rotary phones, factory whistles, roller rinks, and neighborhood parades. Begin in total darkness with a crisp close-up of a reel-to-reel machine starting, shot on a 100mm macro lens, then glide through the archive on a slow dolly using a 35mm lens. Light the room with warm tungsten pools and cool monitor glow. Cut between waveform graphics, archival photographs, and intimate interviews. Make each sound trigger a visual memory. Use a curious, highly shareable YouTube and TikTok format with clean captions, tactile foley, and a poignant final recording.
