A Diner That Never Sleeps

Make a character-driven documentary about a classic roadside diner operating twenty-four hours a day in the American Midwest. Open on a rain-covered neon sign at 3:17 a.m., followed by a slow dolly through the nearly empty dining room. Use a 35mm lens for cinematic booth conversations, a 50mm lens for portraits, and macro inserts of coffee, grill flames, handwritten checks, and worn menus. Light the scene with practical neon, sodium streetlights, and warm kitchen fluorescents. Capture authentic staff banter, truck drivers, night-shift nurses, and regular customers. Structure the story around one overnight shift, with restrained editing, rich sound design, and a quietly emotional final sunrise.
